Q: What is a component?
|
A: A component is a Web application that performs certain functions or tasks within your site. It might be a single page of text and pictures, or it could be an application that automates coordination of meetings and classes.
OnDeCC components can be as simple as a static 'About Us' page, as advanced as an Online Newsletter, or as complex as a full-blown shopping cart with a customer management backend.
Each site has a custom-designed graphic interface and comes 'assembled to order'. Sites can then be easily expanded or contracted to fit the ever-changing needs of your business by simply choosing new components from a checklist interface, and those sections are launched or deleted on the fly.

Q: Can I host an OnDeCC based Web site or intranet on my own server?
|
A: Yes.
Although we primarily license our OnDeCC software as a hosted application, you may host your intranet or Web site on your own server using our site license option. Under this option, you pay a single up-front, license fee payment. There is also a small annual maintenance fee (15%) that enables you to receive all of the upgrades to our software as they become available. Or, you may elect to receive all of the new components we develop under our premium maintenance plan (20%).

Q: What happens if I decide I don't want to pay the monthly licensing fee anymore? Do I lose everything I've created?
|
A: Upon completion of your site, we give you a 'static' version of the site on a CD. That is to say, we give you a pure HTML version of the site including any images that we created on your behalf or that you have a license to display on your site.
If you decide you would like to host the site internally, you may do so under our one-time license fee agreement.

Q: What happens if I opt for the site license fee a few months from now?
|
A: That's one of the many reasons why Bizzuka intranets and Web sites are, in fact, so affordable. If at some point in the future you decide to move toward a site license fee, you will receive a credit of up to 50% of the monthly license payments you have made up until that point.
Should those monthly licensing credits exceed the lump sum licensing price, you will then only be charged a small transfer fee should you wish to move the site to a different hosting facility.

Q: Do I need to know HTML, PERL or any other programming language?
|
A: No. Editing is done through a Drag-and-Drop interface, which eliminates the need for HTML. Each component is a fully functional Web application, so no scripting language like PERL is necessary.

Q: How fast can I get up an running on a Bizzuka site?
|
A: If you choose the Basic version, which is a predesigned template, we can have your site launched and ready for you to add copy in as little as 24 hours.
For custom designed sites, the design process can take from 2 days to 6 weeks, depending upon the level of customization. Most sites are completed within 30 days.
