Social Media's Influence on Google's Search Rankings
Social media has grown up and graduated beyond the personal realm and there's no doubt that businesses are using it to drive very serious results, especially with targeted advertising promotions like Community Coffee Company's, for example. However, the question of whether social media influences search engine rankings (e.g. Google, Bing) is hotly debated between SEO specialists (“no”) and Social Media Consultants (“yes”).
Bizzuka Bottom Line: There’s no question that active social media engagement creates more buzz around your product or service, hence you will get more interest, which can easily translate to more website hits and thus, rankings. However, there is no data to suggest a direct correlation between say, a Facebook presence, and your rankings; in fact, Google’s own SEO guru, Matt Cutts, very carefully endorses social media as a tool to help site TRAFFIC but falls short of linking it to RANKINGS in this video clip. Final note: In Lafayette, LA alone, there are almost 150,000 active Facebook users 18+ years-old. WOW - the latest census has Lafayette’s population at 210,000! We can help you get in the game!

With almost any task on Bing, if your friends can help you out we’ll bring them right there with you,” he continued. Wanna try it? Here’s how . . .
