2007: A Year in Review It is an understatement to say that Bizzuka experienced
phenomenal growth in 2007. This past year, the company reached or
exceeded a number of critical milestones.
The number of Bizzuka staff nearly doubled, growing
from 13 employees in January to 27 by year-end. That's no small feat
when you consider that, in January of 2004, we only had three
employees!
It is its employees that make any organization
great, and we continue to recruit and hire the most talented and
personable employees available. After all, we ultimately serve you,
our customer, and it is our goal to do so with the highest caliber
personnel possible.
One of the most significant events to take place in
2007 was the round of venture capital we received. Bizzuka raised
$1.7 million in financing from Advantage Capital Partners, the
Louisiana Technology Fund and several individual investors. The
funds are being used to accelerate our plan for national expansion.
We were the first Lafayette-based company to receive funds from the
Louisiana Technology Fund.
2007 proved to also be a record-breaking year in the
number of new customers who joined our ranks as well. Our roster
grew over 30% with the addition of 100 new clients, putting the
total number at over 300 across a wide range of industry
verticals.
2007 was certainly a year of records broken. Of
course, none of that could have been possible without you. We want
to thank you for entrusting us with your business this past year. It
is a trust that we know must be earned and we look forward to doing
so yet again in 2008.

and other forms of what’s being referred to as "social media" has
changed the very nature of the way marketing messages are
communicated. In the past, messaging was carefully crafted, closely
guarded and usually focused in one direction, from the company to
the consumer.
In this age of consumer-generated media, how
are organizations to respond, particularly when the message may not

Latest Round of Shopping Cart Upgrades
Those sites with eCommerce will appreciate
the latest round of upgrades to the shopping cart
component.
eChecks (a/k/a electronic checks) are now
accepted as a method of payment. Some customers lack credit
cards, while others simply prefer paying by electronic check.
Whatever the reason, eChecks provide a new opportunity to turn
visitors into buyers.
Credit Card Security Codes can
now be used when buyers pay by credit card. Known by
several names and acronyms, card security codes provide an extra
boost of confidence that a buyer paying by credit card is actually
an authorized cardholder.
NOTE: It is
necessary to update one’s contract with Authorize.Net before using
either feature. From there, Bizzuka must test the Authorize.Net
connection with the new feature or features prior to first time use.
Bizzuka does charge a small fee for testing the new features.

Newsletter & Archive Component Features New
Enhancement

The Newsletter & Archive component has a new enhancement: an
individualized outbound e-mail address for each category.
Imagine being the principal at Our High School. Each sport
publishes a newsletter on the Our School site. Before this
enhancement, all of the newsletters used the office secretary’s
e-mail address. Now, with this enhancement, the baseball coach’s
e-mail address can be used with baseball newsletters and the
softball coach’s e-mail address can be used with softball
newsletters.
Of course, this extends beyond schools. Any site that uses
categories with the Newsletter & Archive component can now use
this enhancement. Simply go to the Newsletter & Archive page as
a site administrator and click the Edit Categories button. From
there, when adding or editing a category, type an e-mail address in
the e-mail field. It's that easy! |
