Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC), a 301-bed facility, is the largest full-service, acute-care medical center in the nine-parish area of Acadiana.
LGMC provides families with comprehensive medical services at every level of care, from severe emergency trauma to the common cold.
Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) needed a Web site that provided a much greater degree of depth, an educational site where consumers could get vital information regarding products and service lines.
The hospital also needed a site that was much more highly interactive, and included such functions as a physician finder and job board.
In addition, the previous LGMC site was hosted and managed by a third-party. Any time changes were required, additional costs and time delays were incurred. The hospital wanted a site that could be managed internally, thereby reducing both costs and time.
LGMC did their due diligence and looked at healthcare-specific Web site developers across the country. However, because they are a community-owned hospital, their preference was to do business locally, if possible.
