CLIENT BACKGROUND
Tsunami Sushi is a locally-owned, award-winning sushi bar with two locations: Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Since its establishment in January of 2000, the restaurant has positioned itself as a premier fine dining establishment for international cuisine.
Tsunami's diverse menu focuses on obtaining the freshest seafood and all around ingredients available. Food offerings include standard sushi rolls, nigiri and sashimi, as well as fresh Japanese tempura and teriyaki dishes.
THE PROBLEM
Tsunami needed a more dynamic Web site solution. What they had was "very static and boring," according to the owner, Michelle Ezell. They also needed a site which could be maintained by restaurant staff, which was affordable and which could grow with the company over time. It was also important that the site serve a marketing role as well, part of which included the ability for customers to purchase gift cards and other items.
One of the problems Tsunami hoped the new site would solve related to product descriptions. Often customers would call asking for descriptions on various menu items. Considering the nature of their product, that proved to be difficult to do. The client needed the site to provide a buffer giving patrons the information they were requesting.
BIZZUKA SOLUTION
Each request the client made was easily facilitated in Bizzuka's extensive component library. Not only did Bizzuka give Tsunami a site design that captured the Asian-inspired essence and spirit of the restaurant, but one that staff members could maintain. "Even such things as complete menu changes could be done in a short amount of time," said Ezell.
The list of components used by Tsunami included the shopping cart, email newsletter, awards, news articles and jobs board. |
